STAR stands for Senepol, Tuli and Angus Red, meaning it is a composite breed composed of two British (taurine) and two African (sanga) bloodlines. The Senepol breed was developed by crossing Red Poll and N’Dama. Not widely known in the US, Tuli is a sanga that originated in Africa.
